  • The second edition of the YES FOUNDATION Media for Social Change Fellowship was launched in the august presence of Mr. Gururaj Deshpande, Founder, Deshpande Foundation & Ex Co-Chair, Barack Obama's National Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Strategy at ISDI on January 12, 2017
  • 3,344 aspirants applied from 535 cities and towns pan-India
  • Total 213 high-potential youth placed with 101 NGOs across various fields including education, health, skill development, elderly care, entrepreneurship etc in 3 locations – Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru
  • Fellows underwent a 1-week, intensive Induction training followed by 7-week NGO placement interspersed with fortnightly Mentoring workshops
  • Industry experts on marketing, communications, digital & social media, filmmaking and the development sector conducted the training including Govindraj Ethiraj, Journalist and Founder, Ping Digital Broadcast, Dhimant Parekh, Founder & CEO, The Better India, Varun Sheth, Co-Founder & CEO, Ketto and Anoj Vishwanathan, Co-Founder, Milaap
  • Fellows assisted in communication efforts by designing websites, mobile apps and logos, raising funds and developing high-quality videos which received widespread appreciation on social media
  • The 7-week placement culminated in a convocation ceremony at each location
  • Key attendees at the convocation ceremonies included Arnab Goswami, MD, Republic TV, Anurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld, Palash Roy Chowdhury, MD India, Pratt & Whitney & Director, UTC India Pvt. Ltd, Siraj Chaudhry, Chairman, Cargill India Pvt. Ltd, Arun Kumar Jain, MD, Fluor Daniel Gurgaon and Dhimant Parekh, Founder and CEO, The Better India amongst others
  • Indian School of Management & Entrepreneurship (ISME) instituted 6 fully paid scholarships to ISME post-graduation courses, exclusively for the YF Fellows
